MariData develops simulation models for all technical systems on board a ship – the main and auxiliary engines, the propulsion system, the hull and propeller, and the environmental conditions. These are modeled in the form of “digital twins”.
Along with 1-d energy simulations, fluid dynamic models / CFD with all relevant influencing factors as well as a geoplatform for the environmental data are applied.
In addition, parametric methods for reconstructing ship geometries are developed in order to reproduce details of the hull geometry that are often missing.
Finally, MariData will develop a decision support system that will enable the crew and fleet management on shore to carry out precise route optimization with regard to operational safety and energy efficiency or emission reduction.
